Where did your love for travel start?
I was born into a travelling family. My grandfather was in travel. My father has been in the industry for 60 years. My brother David and I run Goldman Travel Group. We were lucky to travel as kids, travel is in our blood.
Why do you enjoy working in the industry?
I love the happiness travel brings our clients. Especially after the past 21 months of uncertainty and travel restrictions. Travel is a part of the Australian psyche and we can’t wait to travel once again!
What is your favourite destination/place to visit and why?
I love Thailand. The Land of Smiles. The people, food and landscapes. And of course, Africa. My first trip there 5 years ago was just wonderful. A whole new world.
Tell us about one of your most memorable travel experiences and why it stands out.
Being on an African Safari for the first time. That feeling of being in someone’s else’s backyard. I felt so insignificant as a human, next to the wildlife.
Give us a travel tip you don’t think anyone else gives.. or that isn’t given enough..
Roll your clothes in your suitcase. Less creases and somehow more fits in. Or use zip bags to compartmentalize your clothes.
Based on the five senses and thinking about travelling what do you…
- Like to see: The Surf in Hawaii
- Like to taste: Phad Thai on the streets of Bangkok
- Like to feel: The sun shining in Italy while eating Pizza
- Like to hear: The sounds of prayer in Israel
- Like to smell: Elephant Dung while tracking wildlife in Africa
