Great Plains will be opening its newest lodge in a forested area of the Sapi Private Reserve, on the eastern boundary of the Mana Pools Reserve.
Tembo Plains is due to open in August 2021 and sits on 118,000 hectares of private, open land. These exquisite surroundings, combined with a unique canvas and stone combination architecture-style, promise unparalleled luxury to the camp’s future guests.
With an expansive private lounging area in each tent as well as a private outdoor pool, guests can sit, feet up, and filter through their images with the professional Canon camera and lenses given to them for use during their stay.
The stunning two-bedroom family suite comprises two en-suite tents, ideal for a family or two couples looking for an intimate, private option when on safari.
Families are welcome, with children from age six years, and safari drives are enjoyed together with other guests. Activities such as walking and driven safaris, canoeing and boating are available to all guests and encourage a true emergence of the surrounding wildlife and the eco-conscious safari that Great Plains aim at creating.
Whilst based at the camp during the day, guests are welcome to enjoy the luxury of the spa and the wine cellar and interactive five-star kitchen. With a maximum of 12 guests, these experiences offer some interaction at a personal level with staff and other guests.
One of Great Plains’ goals is to “convert vast tracts of Africa into pure conservation land”, and the Sapi Private Reserve “is now a beautiful private photographic reserve.
