Description
Designed and made by Founder of How Many Elephants, Holly Budge, this multi award-winning artwork made especially for this event, depicts 96 elephants, the daily poaching rate in Africa. The elephants are cut in vegetable ivory, a material Holly has worked with for over a decade. It is a beautiful and robust material, almost identical in colour and texture to elephant ivory. One elephant is hand cut in brass to represent the poachers’ bullet shells and one elephant is facing the other way to show there is still hope that this crisis can be turned around. In essence, this is a powerful piece of art and a very special collectors’ item!
