As the demand for travel to Africa bounces back, knowledge and expertise are of the utmost importance to grab – and reassure – potential customers.
Africa Hub, an invaluable information resource, has recently been launched by Anita Powell, former chair of the African Travel & Tourism Association (ATTA) and founder & MD of specialist Africa representation company, Small World Marketing.
This new online platform offers comprehensive, expert-led, virtual resources to keep tour operators and travel agents up to speed with destination information.
The Africa Hub is already host to 1,600 registered users from source markets such as the UK, USA, Germany, Italy and South Africa. As an indication of the quality of the material being provided or presented, 40% of the users are directors and managers of travel businesses across the globe.
The platform provides the industry with webinars, presentations, comprehensive fact-files, itinerary suggestions and maps. Local suppliers are also actively involved in providing quality presentations, which in turn assists local tour operators and travel agents in educating staff. The hub also has an inspiration zone called “The Buzz”, which brings destinations to life through videos and imagery.
“Unique features include bite-size video extracts which are perfect for users who want to go direct to particular regions of interest. It’s a chance to really catch up with what’s happening on the ground in various destinations across Africa, and to inspire the salesperson or traveller,” explains Anita.
The Africa Hub has opened the eyes of many industry players around the world and aims to continue educating travel partners in selling the destination with confidence. The platform has embraced the new online ways of learning, and is perfect for training new and existing staff members with up-to-date information.
