A newly launched initiative is shining a light on those travel companies helping during the COIVD-19 outbreak.
During the pandemic there has been seemingly endless negative headlines surrounding the travel industry, with tales of withheld refunds and lack of customer support. But #ShineOnTravel is looking to create a corner of positivity within the industry, sharing the stories of the many, many travel companies who are in fact doing all they can to help their customers during these tough times as well as taking on community projects and fundraising.
The new project has been launched by travel marketing specialists SEO Travel, and is a bid to showcase those travel companies helping their customers and communities during the coronavirus pandemic.
DON’T GET LOST AMONG THE HEADLINES
SEO Travel has seen first-hand the devastating impact the COVID-19 outbreak has had on their clients, largely consisting of SME travel businesses. They have also seen the incredible actions which their clients have taken to help out their customers through these times – whether that’s proactively offering refunds, providing hassle-free re-bookings, or ensuring that holidaymakers returned home safely.
With this in mind SEO Travel wanted to share the stories of those travel companies who are doing everything right, as their stories were getting lost among the headlines of the minority who were leaving customers in difficult positions.
SHARE YOUR INCREDIBLE INITIATIVES
Above this, many travel companies have been running incredible initiatives from fundraising for their local communities to offering free holidays and discounts for key workers. #ShineOnTravel is a place to share all of these positive stories – whether it’s simply a quick and easy refund, or a larger scale project to help out during these challenging times.
The #ShineOnTravel site is a user-generated database where anyone can submit stories of those travel companies helping during the COVID-19 outbreak. It can either be a company which a traveller has been dealing with themselves, or it can simply be a positive story which you happened upon on social media or read about in the news.
All entries are verified by the #ShineOnTravel team to ensure they are authentic and accurate.
As well as sharing stories of the travel companies taking positive actions, #ShineOnTravel is also aiming to encourage people to keep dreaming, thinking and talking about travel.
With many small travel companies feeling the pressure of the COVID-19 outbreak and still doing all they can to help customers, it would make all the difference if the public can do all they can to help the travel industry through this time, and ensure that travel really does shine on forever.
People can help the travel industry through the simplest of actions, such as engaging with tour companies’ social media channels to simply starting to think about where their next trip may be. If it is feasible for them to do so, holidaymakers may also consider postponing rather than cancelling existing bookings.
#ShineOnTravel are aiming to create a comprehensive database of all of the travel companies who have taken positive action during these times and are calling upon anyone with a positive story to share to head over to the #ShineOnTravel site and submit their entries.
