How did you fall in love with travelling? My mother introduced us to travel at a very early age. Seeing different places and meeting new and strange people and experiences was addictive. I have always loved to travel.

What kind of traveller are you? I love food and history. I like to immerse myself in the culture of the destination I am travelling to. I also love travelling solo.

What’s your travel philosophy?  If you’re going to travel somewhere, come back with a true sense of the place. Explore destinations, cultures and food (of course). You can only do so by connecting with the locals.

What are your top travel essentials? Great face moisturiser, beautiful, comfortable shoes and clothes, the warmest jacket or coat if travelling when it is cold, Sunglasses and a hat when travelling during summer and basic travel medicines. The list is long. I’m not a light traveller!

Where was your most memorable trip? Zanzibar and Cayman Islands.

How has travelling changed your life? It has made me love different cultures. It has also taught me to be curios and see the beauty of diversity. I think travel has helped to raise my level of consciousness.

When borders open again and the world starts to return to ‘a new normal’ what’s your first travel destination on your list? Somewhere on the African continent.

Best travel advice you can share? I have a few: remember to be a good ambassador of where you come from; look after your health! travel can be brutal on the body; plan your travel so you are properly prepared. Travel can be stressful and finally do the things you really love on your travels, not what is only popular.
