The Vineyard

The Vineyard… so much to discover!

From the restaurants to the events, from the breath-taking garden to the wellness retreat, there is so much to experience at this beautiful destination.

The Vineyard is a resort-style property set in tranquil Newlands, just 20 minutes from Cape Town’s city centre. And the friendly welcome is just one of the reasons our guests return again and again.

Cape Town is South Africa’s foodie mecca, and you will love the cuisine served at our outlets. Discover the peace and tranquility in 8-acres of urban gardens, recharge on-site at one of the Mother City’s best loved spas, re-envigorate in the indoor and outdoor pools, work it all off at the fitness centre, stretch your cares away with yoga in our studio or on the lawns, or just lie back on your lounger and take in the splendour of the eastern cliffs of Table Mountain while you enjoy drinks, poolside.

Our afternoon tea, afternoon picnics and al fresco dining are a highlight. Visitors and locals alike, enjoy our all-day menu and having cool drinks, hot drinks, cocktails and of course beautiful wines while looking out over the garden. We also roast our own coffee on site and our coffee shop serves up sweet and savoury daily delights.

Renowned for its sustainability initiatives, the hotel can be entirely self-sufficient in terms of drinking water if required, has solar panels for energy reduction, sources local, ethically produced ingredients for the restaurants.

While The Vineyard may be one of Cape Town’s oldest hotels, the 211 rooms are decorated in contemporary style and designed for luxurious comfort.

Enjoy a highly entertaining garden walk with our horticulturalist and sustainability consultant, meet our resident mountain tortoises.

SIGHTS AND SOUNDS

Just minutes away are the boutiques of Cavendish Square, the coffee shops, restaurants, and the famous Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. Travel south and within half an hour you’ll be at the beaches and surf spots of False Bay – visit quaint and quirky Kalk Bay, Simonstown, the penguin colony and Cape Point a bit further on and continue round the peninsula on one of the world’s most spectacular road trips. Half an hour from The Vineyard in the other direction takes you to the Table Mountain cableway

Of course, if our guests prefer to curl up in our library or cocoon in front of the remarkable views from their bedrooms, suites, or private villa apartments, we are more than happy to help them do just that.

As a family-owned hotel group, our commitment to caring for our guests and staff has been strengthened by the challenges posed by COVID-19. We have spared nothing in ensuring that all the necessary safety systems and processes are in place to ensure your safety whilst you are in our care.

There is so much to do at The Vineyard. Come and tempt your sense of wander!
