Upside Travel and Tours

Inspired by the desire to travel at a time when the world was hit hard by the pandemic, Keitumetse opened Upside Travel and Tours. The tour business offers clients an opportunity to explore Botswana and surrounds, creating memories and ensuring that they are able to travel and make dreams come true.

Q&A with Keitumetse Tebogo Maribe

How did the idea for your business come about?

I have been in the tourism industry for over seven years. When tourism was hit hard by the pandemic, I did some consultations with people eager to travel, and so the business idea came about.

How did you come up with the name for your company/experience?

Upside – up and down. I called it this because I started it during the pandemic, when the industry had its ups and downs.

Who is your ideal customer and why?

Business and leisure travellers.

What is your greatest hope for your business?

To see continuous growth over the next couple of years.

What has been the most satisfying achievement in your business?

Being able to book flights and accommodation in tough times.

What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs who want to get into tourism?

It’s never too late to start your own business!

If you could have a do-over, what would you do differently?

Nothing.
